Accused used another woman’s genuine document as her employer had kept her passport
An Ethiopian housemaid fled her employer and used a compatriot’s passport and visa to try to flee the UAE, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
After fleeing her employer who kept her passport in his custody, RL, 26, managed to get a genuine visa and passport of a compatriot woman for Dh8,500 and headed for the airport to leave the UAE.
At the airport, an officer discovered that the picture in the passport was not that of its holder.
On questioning the passenger, it was found out that the woman had used genuine documents of another person to try to leave the country as her passport was in the possession of her employer from whom she had fled.
The court will reconvene on November 26.
